Now that you understand the ADHD brain, how do you parent the child in front of you?
Parenting a child with ADHD can come with a lot of questions. Why can they focus for hours on something they love, but struggle to get dressed in the morning? Why do simple requests sometimes turn into huge battles? How do you hold boundaries while also recognizing that your child’s brain may genuinely need something different?
Parenting the ADHD Brain is a two-hour, interactive workshop designed for parents and caregivers of children with diagnosed or suspected ADHD.
During the first hour we’ll talk about what ADHD is (and isn’t), different ways it can present, executive functioning, emotional regulation, and what may actually be happening underneath some of the behaviors parents find most frustrating.
During the second hour, we’ll shift from understanding the ADHD brain to parenting the child in front of you. We’ll explore practical ADHD-friendly strategies, connection before correction, effective boundaries, strengths-based parenting, and ways to help your child build confidence without lowering expectations.
And this won’t be two hours of sitting through a lecture!
This workshop is intentionally interactive and conversation-based. Parents and caregivers will have opportunities to ask questions, share experiences, learn from one another, and connect with other families who understand some of the unique joys and challenges of raising a child with ADHD.
You’ll leave with a better understanding of your child, practical strategies you can begin using at home, take-home resources, and hopefully a little more confidence in the way you parent.
Because your child is not a list of deficits. Understanding their brain can change the way you see their behavior, your relationship, and the way you support them.
